CBM's editor jousting at windmills!

{in appreciation of Will Rogers & the daring duo of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza}

Not to cast aspersions at the New York Times, but it should be admitted that contrary to the impression conveyed by the Times' treatment of the former incumbent's provocative statement that he had "not sold the Lincoln bedroom," twinned with his handwritten memo urging hurriedly commencing offering bunking-down privileges at the White House as an inducement to potential supporters, suffice to say that technically speaking, the Big Chief (apparently) did not 'sell' the Lincoln bedroom (which is not to say that he may not have liked to, or may not have hesitated to do so for more than a blink or so, if he could have received a sufficiently encouraging offer).  But in any case he (apparently) did not technically 'sell' the Lincoln bedroom, and therefore was not 'technically' lying about denying having done so.  No!  But, that's not to deny that the Chief unmistakably headed up the exceedingly lucrative White House Mansion Overnight-time-share-program for VIP's (and other well-heeled heels), in addition to certain persons whom the Chief found ever so 'entertaining,' per the former first female's explanation of her (then) ongoing efforts to provide people for the former Commander-in-Chief to be entertained by and with (never mind will you, Bill's unmistakably clear preference in the way of Entertainment he desired, desires, and so enjoys, never mind how that fails to make any sense for so devoted a wife as then first female, and now Senator Hillary Rodham-C. to provide for her ever-so-needy husband's enjoyment!

Oh well, that is how it is done in thoroughly modern America you know, ala that lofty credo of the less than modern Romans, i.e., "when in Rome, do as the Romans do."  The former Commander-In-Chief's behaviour reminds me of that of another 'great' American, i.e., former baseball star Reggie Jackson, who played for the Oakland Athletics/A's & then the New York Yankees.  In response to a question in an interview as to why he required the sexual favors of such a prodigious assortment of playmates, the heroic Reggie explained that 'because he gave so much [effort] in his baseball playing, he needed to receive an extraordinary amount and variety of [sexual affection] outside of baseball [to recharge him].'  I suppose it makes sense doesn't it?  Poor abused Reggie [being a pampered professional star baseball player] suffering such an exceptionally demanding life that he demanded a profligately immoral sexual life to comfort his bruised ego.  Poor baby.  Baseball anyone?  Batter Up!  Bat boy, no I did not say Bad Boy!

. Pied Peter, er Piper... and you say they call it "the news?"

Did you happen to catch the National News Anchors (i.e., Peter Jennings, et al.) arrogantly decrying Paige Patterson and the Southern Baptist Convention for committing the egregiously 'unloving,' 'intolerant,' 'hateful,'...'trespass' of obeying Jesus Christ in speaking the truth of the gospel to the lost, irrespective of what name they go by, e.g., Jew, Muslim, Hindi...not to mention 'Southern Baptists' like Bill Clinton & Al Gore, and 'Methodists' like Hillary Rodham-Clinton.

But sadly how many millions of Americans and even 'christians' will blindly fall for the line that evangelizing the lost is contrary to Christianity and American virtue; sadly most will blindly, ignorantly, foolishly fall in step with the Pied Peters!

. LIFE Betrays Itself, and actually witnesses to Life (Sorry, no pictures, oh well, that's life.)

The dangerous thing about perusing LIFE Magazine, is that you may recognize truth which the magazine frequently, and inadvertently, displays. And the substance of this truth (while hardly revelational) is profound, of great import touching as it does on vital life & death issues, and sadly profoundly contrary to the wishes of the publishers of LIFE Magazine (who could do so much good if they desired to). But though the publishers, editors, writers, ..., of LIFE magazine are not disposed to recognize nor willingly communicate truth, CBM does recommend it (LIFE Magazine) be purchased because of it's remarkably frequent, poignant, albeit unintended, depictions of truth and reality.

Without further ado, allow me to describe a few examples of GOD's handiwork in gaining a public forum, for gravely needed truth, via LIFE Magazine (of all places!).

. a) From: BIRTH BANNED

'LIFE's first major brush with the law occurred with the publication of photographs from an educational film called The Birth of a Baby in the April 11, 1938, issue. Despite a prepublication notice from the editors to subscribers and clergymen, the photographs caused such a stir that the issue was banned in more than 50 localities, including Boston, Brooklyn, Chicago, Memphis, New Orleans, Savannah, Tucson, all of Pennsylvania and Canada. The controversy reached First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, who stated that "some...feel that such information should be printed only in medical journals. But [it] must be given in mediums the public sees or listens to or reads.... It is information to safeguard young people, to try to bring down the death rate of mothers and babies."'

***

A novel idea don't you think, to insist that controversial, risqué, graphic, intimate material, found to be extremely offensive by a large portion of the population, MUST be provided to the public via mediums the public is most apt to see, hear, view,..., in order to safeguard young people, to try to bring down the death rate of mothers and babies (preborn babies, unborn babies, in utero babies, fetuses,....).

Interesting that LIFE's publishers, editors, writers, photographers don't apply the same standard across the board, i.e. regarding showing abortion, the most common surgical procedure in America for what it is, exposing the 'abortion industry' for what it is, championing the communication of information regarding the Abortion - Breast Cancer Link, the dangers of RU-486,....

No, LIFE Magazine like the other news media tabloids tells and shows the stories which suit its fancy.

. b) From: now

"IS THERE ANOTHER picture that has meant so much--and so many different things--to as many people as this one? When Lennart Nilsson embarked on his epochal project of photographing the human embryo in 1955, he may have sensed that it would take him 10 years to make it publishable. But could he have imagined that on its appearance it would be embraced by readers who claimed it as proof of the existence of God? Or that while some parents would use it to instigate frank conversations with their children about birth and development, others would hide it away, fearing it would soil their kids' innocence? Or that years later it would be reprinted on antiabortion placards to support the argument that life begins at conception?

And there is at least one more question: Can a single photograph really change the world, or at least change what we believe we know of it? In this case, the answer is unequivocally, yes."

"Maybe...it starts with a kiss." *Lennart Nilsson, answering the question "When does life begin?"

***

*As for what this great photographer (Lennart Nilsson), may have imagined before his monumental undertaking; if his answer to the question "When does life begin?" is any indication, then surely it was some pathetically 'poetic' foolishness; owing to his own truly unfathomably remarkable resistance to GOD's truth.

The important Question is, unmistakably, what do his photographs reveal. The answer is again unmistakably the hitherto secret, and sacred, yet known reality that what GOD says in His Word concerning the yet unborn human, and the creation of human beings (originally, and thereafter), is true: It is described thus in Psalm 139:13-18, "For Thou hast possessed my reins: Thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise Thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are Thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from Thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in Thy Book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. How precious also are Thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with Thee."

Yet despite such utterly overwhelming and incontrovertible testimony to the humanity of the unborn or preborn human being, and to the unmistakably divine master design work embodied in the human baby in utero, despite such graphic testimony, LIFE Magazine's purveyors of modern myths deny the truth, in the name of reason (pity, when they leave this life they will have no reasons to offer to the Creator GOD, to justify their anti-God, anti-mankind works while here as human adults in tempero).

But isn't it wonderful the way God works. To think that a man like Lennart Nilsson and a magazine like LIFE with no intention of showing forth the truth concerning the humanity of the preborn baby and the Creator's signature in His creation, should inadvertently, unwittingly, and ruefully give unwilling testimony to the truth of God and His human creation is almost too wonderful. Yes, what Satan intended for evil, God intended for good. Satan intended to use these people, i.e. Lennart Nilsson and his team, and the staff of LIFE Magazine for evil, but God intended to use them for good. And God of course won. Yes, Father knows best.

Lean on Me

'Premature babies who survive are tiny miracles of modern medicine. Kyrie and Brielle Jackson are also examples of a far more primitive science, that of the loving touch. Born 12 weeks early, the twins were whisked into separate incubators. Kyrie, the larger at two pounds three ounces, slept peacefully. But Brielle had breathing and heart-rate problems, didn't gain weight and fussed when anyone tried to comfort her. Finally, a nurse tried a technique called "double bedding" and put the sisters together for the first time since they shared a womb. "Brielle snuggled up to Kyrie," reports mom Heidi Jackson, "and she calmed right down." With her sister near, Brielle began to thrive. Sooner than expected, the girls went home--where they now share a single crib.'

***

Indeed who would have 'scientifically arrived' at such a startling finding?!

"Tiny miracles of modern science," indeed, since when did science create life, destroy it yes, but create it?!

"A far more primitive science," indeed; what atheistic, self-worshiping donkeys.

P.S. these beautiful babes had no 'rights' to life nor anything else until after they were 'prematurely' born, contemplate that for awhile. That is right, why make any to do over them, they deserved no care, no protection, nothing but utterly callous, heartless, unloving disregard. They were perfect prospects for legal abortion, right up until they were delivered. That is where our purportedly modern scientific philosophies have taken us (to Hell). Oh well, that's LIFE.

With Heavy Hearts

"A year after the signing of a peace accord ending four years of war in the Balkans, the atrocities continue. Tens of thousands are missing - presumed dead. Surely a mind numbing toll, and yet it is impossible to grow inured to the horror when something like this turns up: the body of a little girl, 40 days old, discarded along with the bodies of her parents, and three siblings. Three years after her death, she is given a proper burial in a coffin so tiny a single pair of hands would suffice to carry it. But ritual dictates that many hands carry a person to her resting place. And right now ritual is the only semblance of civilization that remains amid this human chaos."

***

Remarkable; what were LIFE's writers thinking, do you imagine?

Think of it: "and yet it is impossible to grow inured to the horror when something like this turns up," oh no whatever could it be, the devastating answer "the body of a little girl 40 days old" (three years after the fact), one newborn infant girl, guesstimated to be less than six weeks post-utero, that does it, that is the ultimate evil, if she had been butchered in her mother's womb six weeks earlier that would have been righteous, right?, but this, the most outrageous evil of the whole Balkan nightmare! Thankfully, three years after her death she is given a "proper burial", three years after the death of this babe who was less than six weeks 'old' (actually perhaps ten and a half months old), she is given a proper burial, carried to "her resting place", in a ritualistic manner which somehow according to LIFE imparts a "semblance of civilization...amid the human chaos".

Meanwhile, it is a crime in America to give aborted babies proper funerals, not to abort them, but to claim them and give them some semblance of a civilized burial! Oh well, that's the America of today championed by LIFE Magazine!

But yes, amid the massive and further mounting carnage toll, the most outrageous horror is identified as this newborn infant, guesstimated at 40 days post-utero, being found discarded with her parents and three siblings; please consider this closely, very closely.

Vast multitudes slaughtered, whole families exterminated (reminiscent of Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot,....); and yet the most monstrous evil, surpassing all others, cutting through the 'mind numbing' gore is the killing of a newborn infant girl along with her brothers and sisters and mother and father; truly remarkable, don't you think? More terrible than the slaughter of her mother who had to 'risk' having her, more terrible than the slaughter of her entire family, the most monstrous act of wickedness of all, is seen to be this precious baby girl being put to death with her family (rather than being left to starve to death, the way the regime in Red China handles millions of infant girls, who they cause parents to desert, so that their one permissible baby might be a boy).

Amazing don't you think, 100 million or so babies a year murdered by abortion with the ok of LIFE Magazine, and horror of horrors they fuss over one precious baby being put to death with the precious family she needed for survival, and thrival, and three years or so ago at that. Oh well, that's LIFE, it doesn't make any sense, but that's LIFE.
